Course Description

This 24 hour, three day POST-certified course prepares peace officers to instruct agency personnel in red dot pistol optics. Designed for experienced shooters, the curriculum builds instructor-level proficiency in optic presentation, dot acquisition, failure protocols, and diagnostic coaching.

Classroom sessions cover optic selection, mounting, and program development, while range drills include live-fire labs, low-light applications, and instructor teach-backs. Students return as certified red dot instructors, equipped to implement optics doctrine and elevate their agency’s firearms training programs.

This course is for Law Enforcement Only.

What to bring

Students will require the following materials:

  • Eye & Ear Protection (electronic recommended)

  • Duty Pistol and Belt with mounted Red Dot Sight

  • 4 Magazines with Carriers

  • Hat (optional)

  • 1000 Rounds of Pistol Ammunition

  • Note Taking Material
